It’s Time for a Change.

The American Rifle Association™ sees and addresses the need for the unified connection of responsible gun owners and non-gun owners.

YOU and the ARA™ are that uniting voice for change!

WHO WE ARE:

We are the American Rifle Association, Inc., a 501(c)(4) in good standing in the State of Maryland. Our addresses and telephone number are at the bottom of each page.

WHAT WE DO:

We advocate to stop gun deaths and gun violence through education, safety training, technology, research, community, and common sense, non-partisan deliberation and understanding.  We empower our members (please see our membership page) to determine our course via each member’s vote on a given topic.  Your concerns are ours, and with your help we will lobby Congress accordingly. We rely upon common sense and diversity of ideals to drive our mission. We rely upon community and education in order to achieve it.

HOW WE DO IT:

  • Community involvement and education (we can’t say that word enough), transparency and accountability, member voting, and a general desire for less dead and harmed humans through gun violence.

  • With memberships and donations from Americans that believe it is time for change and common sense when it comes to gun ownership in America.

 WHAT WE NEED:

  • YOU!

No matter your current affiliation or lack thereof, please join and contribute. All member-driven opinion matters here.

  • Honesty, forthrightness, good faith, honor, fairness, integrity, empathy, and a certain measure of righteous indignation. A desire to neither inflame nor remain incapable of incendiary action.  A desire, based on current events, to make our nation better through the elimination of those barriers which do not serve The People, but rather stand to harm them.

  • This is derived from common sense and a truly unique American dedication to get the job done.  America is far more than the sum of its politics and violence.

The true will of the American people pertaining to gun education and safety is being ignored.

Statistics resoundingly confirm this statement. We are the voice of the overwhelming majority of Americans who want a sensible, honest, non-partisan answer to the challenges associated with firearm safety, training, responsibility, laws, and firearm education in the United States.

The American Rifle Association™ is a unified, non-partisan community of everyday Americans who proudly own guns, as well as for Americans whose lives have been negatively impacted by guns and who wish guns did not exist.  We intend to exercise discussion and diplomacy as the basis for every action we take.

The ARA™ acknowledges the Second Amendment; it is a Constitutional guarantee. With that said, gun violence must stop. We support hunters, sportsmen and sportswomen, marksmen and markswomen, collectors, home protectors, and all responsible gun owners. We also support members who would rather guns did not exist for myriad reasons. We take pride in a truly vast diversity of ideals and membership. That diversity is the best and clearest path to the creation of informed opinions which benefit all.

Our unique, non-partisan Board of Governors openly deliberates any and all member-defined issues surrounding guns, gun violence, gun laws, and gun ownership in the USA. All member positions are considered, as each member within our organization holds a voice and a vote - and we deliver the overall will of the people loudly, efficiently, with fiduciary responsibility, and all efforts toward transparency to our nation's leaders on your behalf. Together, we can and will design a better-educated nation where responsible citizens and firearms can safely coexist.

Protecting People and our Right to Own Guns Responsibly

America has come to know well, and to suffer endlessly from, preventable mass shootings. We at the ARA™ do not believe our children should be the casualty of our right to own guns.

We demand common sense gun laws that protect people from senseless acts of violence.
